Upon Which Stone Shall I Rest? (2021-)
This latest series from Crump is his first public foray into digital painting. Wholly created without outside influences, these works are insular and personal portraits of the artists’ dialogue between his hand and head. A combination of both playful and poignant, these works are to invoke the nostalgia of youth, whilst also conveying a message of loss and confusion surrounding the abstraction of form that we feel secure surrounding ourselves with.
